THANK YOU ANTONY HIRST

Dear Members

The Mornington District Basketball Association (MDBA) Committee of Management wish to inform members of the resignation of our long-standing President, Antony Hirst.

I have been in the role for nine years and thoroughly enjoyed it and feel that it is the right time to depart with such a competent board and General Manager in place overseeing the operations and strategic plans for the association. I have spoken with our Vice President, Rachel Oliver who will fill my role until the next AGM. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time and I look forward to watching from a distance what happens with the MDBA moving forward in the coming decades. The success of the MDBA in recent years is in my view significantly related to the stability of the board/committee said Mr Hirst.

It is with heartfelt gratitude that MDBA thank Antony for his many years of service. Nine years is a very long time to volunteer your personal time and we must also recognise the entire Hirst family for their support over the years, often giving up their family time for Antony to volunteer at MDBA.

Antony should be extremely proud of what he has achieved and leaves the association in a stable, viable and soundly governed position that is well prepared for the future.

We wish Antony and his family all the very best and we will always value the significant contribution he has made to basketball in our region during his time as President.

Kind regards

MDBA Committee of Management
